Perform safe, accurate, and efficient blood collection procedures for a diverse patient population, including pediatric and geriatric clients. Verify patient identity and demographic details rigorously, ensuring specimen labeling accuracy to uphold the highest standards of laboratory practice. Prepare specimens for lab testing, maintaining strict adherence to established protocols and safety guidelines. Maintain meticulous documentation of collections, ensuring all records are complete, accurate, and compliant with privacy regulations. Demonstrate leadership behaviors and process excellence by adhering to safety policies, dress code, and confidentiality standards. Support multiple collection sites as required, maintaining flexibility to cover various locations, including patient service centers and in-office collections. Assist in maintaining a professional, safe, and patient-focused environment, representing the organization positively to patients, staff, and the community. Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth daily operations and optimal patient care.Required Skills:
Minimum of 3 years of professional phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections. Strong proficiency in venipuncture procedures and specimen handling. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to reassure and guide patients. Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision. High attention to detail and accuracy, especially when verifying patient information and labeling specimens. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while maintaining quality standards. Keyboarding and data entry proficiency to ensure accurate documentation. Ability to adapt to changing schedules, including weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts. Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and a clean driving record, as travel between multiple locations may be required. Nice toHave Skills:
Medical assistant or paramedic training strongly preferred. Certification in phlebotomy from an accredited program. Experience working in a patient service center environment. Knowledge of laboratory safety practices and compliance regulations. Bilingual abilities are a plus, enhancing communication with diverse patient populations.Preferred Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Certification in phlebotomy preferred; certification may be required in certain states (e.g., California, Nevada, Washington). At least three years of professional phlebotomy experience, with exposure to pediatric and elderly patient populations. Prior experience in retail or service settings demonstrating customer service excellence.Other Requirements:
