You'll get hands-on exposure to pilot-scale equipment, formulation work, and sample development, all while working alongside experienced Flavorists and scientists who will help you build your career. What You'll Be Doing Prepare and compound flavor samples for customers, R D, QC, and regulatory teams Learn to read and interpret flavor formulas and bring them to life in the lab Operate pilot-scale equipment like spray dryers, homogenizers, and extractors Support flavor development and matching projects alongside Flavorists Accurately measure and handle small quantities of raw materials Maintain detailed records, batch sheets, and documentation Clean, sanitize, and maintain lab equipment and workspaces Package and ship samples for internal teams and customers Help manage lab inventory and supplies Follow food safety, GMPs, and lab safety standards What We're Looking For ~1 year of lab experience (food manufacturing, food lab, or similar preferred) Basic understanding of food safety, lab practices, or GMPs Comfort working in a hands-on, fast-paced lab environment Strong attention to detail when measuring and documenting Ability to stay organized while juggling multiple tasks A team player who's curious, eager to learn, and open to feedback Nice to Have (But Not Required) Degree or coursework in Food Science, Chemistry, or a related field Exposure to sensory testing or food product development Familiarity with lab or food production equipment What You'll Gain Direct experience working in an R D flavor lab Training on specialized equipment used in food innovation Exposure to well-known consumer brands and real product development Mentorship from experienced scientists and leadership Clear opportunities to grow into higher-level technical roles

Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Wheeling, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $27.00/hr.
