Landscape & General Laborer

Pay:

$18.00 - $22.00 per hour

Job Description:

The Smet Companies is a small, family-owned crew looking for hardworking people who show up and get the job done. We handle everything from spring mulching at local spots like the Olney Ale House to full deck teardowns and patio builds. This is a physical, hands-on role.

Responsibilities:

Perform deck demolition, debris removal, and site cleanup. General landscaping tasks (mulching, planting, seasonal cleanups). Load and unload materials, lumber, stone, and heavy equipment. Operate basic power tools and machinery (blowers, trimmers, sleds, etc.).

Requirements:

Proven reliability: You show up on time every day. No exceptions.

Physical ability:

Must be able to lift 50+ lbs and work outdoors in the heat/rain.

Transportation:

Reliable vehicle to get to job sites in Sandy Spring and Olney.

Attitude:

Must be able to follow directions and learn quickly.

What We're Looking For:

People who have a work ethic and want to be on a crew, mostly for landscaping. Ability to work as part of a team without being told twice. Experience in construction or landscaping is a plus, but we will train someone who is consistent.
