Landscape Nursery Assistant - Sturgeon Bay, WI

Our growing team is currently hiring a Landscape Nursery Assistant. The individual in this position should love working with and learning about plants, be self-motivated, reliable, have excellent customer service and communication skills, and the ability to take direction from supervisors.

Key Responsibilities :

• Properly prune, water, weed, space, divide, deadhead and cut back plant material
• Keep plant storage and nursery area neat, including straight rows , dead plants removed, weeding, etc.
• Monitor plant material in storage area and nursery throughout growing season for water, fertilizer, disease, etc. and provide necessary treatments as required
• Assist with ordering, tagging, and inventorying plant material
• Assemble plant orders for jobs prior to scheduled installation
• Assist in landscape design for perennial and smaller garden areas
• Assist in seasonal flower installation and occasionally work along side productions crews with planting
• Inventory plant material and store for winter season

Qualifications:

• A strong work ethic, high motivation and the ability to work with minimal guidance in a progressive landscape environment
• Efficient time management and organizational skills
• Reliable transportation to and from work, with a valid drivers license.
• Good health with strength (ability to lift 50+ pounds) and endurance for required work
• Can work for extended period of time on feet and in all weather conditions
• Horticultural experience required, background/ education in Horticultural a plus.

Job Type:

Full-time Scheduled hours range from 45-50 hours per week from May through September and 40-45 hours per week the rest of the working season.
