Part-Time Animal Caretaker Friends of the Animals•Tipton, IA Friends of the Animals is looking for a reliable, compassionate, and hardworking individual to join our team as a Caretaker. If you love animals, have a strong work ethic, and want to make a difference in the lives of pets waiting for their forever homes, we'd love to hear from you!

Animals Shelter, Tipton, Iowa Type:
Part-Time Job Responsibilities Feed and provide fresh water to all shelter animals Clean and sanitize kennels, litter boxes, dishes, and common areas Administer medications as directed and record treatment when required Monitor animals for changes in behavior, health, or injury and report concerns to admin Exercise, handle, and interact with animals of all sizes and temperaments Work professionally and respectfully with staff, volunteers, and the public Assist with laundry, general cleaning, and basic shelter upkeep Requirements Must be comfortable working with animals of unknown backgrounds and temperaments Ability to safely handle and restrain dogs of all sizes, including strong or high-energy breeds Able to work in a physically demanding environment (lifting up to 50 lbs, walking, bending, cleaning, etc.) Reliable, punctual, and able to follow written and verbal instructions Comfortable working around cleaning chemicals and animal waste Ability to work independently as well as with volunteers and visitors Ideal Candidate Has previous animal handling, kennel, veterinary, or shelter experience (not required but preferred) Is patient, empathetic, and passionate about animal welfare Stays calm in stressful situations and can problem-solve when needed
Pay:
