Job Description

Our Adoption & Resource Consultants are the first friendly faces people meet when they walk through our doors, and the ones who help animals feel safe, seen, and ready for their next chapter. You'll confidently guide adopters through the adoption process, create meaningful matches, and support the animals in our care. What You'll Do Welcome and assist visitors, responding to all requests with warmth and professionalism. Coordinate family and animal matches through thoughtful conversations and first introductions. Counsel adopters on pet ownership, animal behavior, Fear Free handling, and successful transitions into the home. Provide animals with a clean living space, physical activity, and mental enrichment using Fear Free methods daily. Maintain accurate animal, financial, and adopter records. What you bring At least 1 - 2 years of professional customer service experience. Genuine enjoyment working in a highly visible, public-facing role. Working knowledge of domestic animal behavior, illnesses, and body language. Compassionate and clear interpersonal communication skills. Ability to multitask, adapt quickly, and stay organized in a fast-paced environment. Reliable transportation. What to expect A flexible schedule, including weekday mornings, afternoons, and evenings, as well as nights, weekends, and non-standard hours as needed. Physically active, hands-on work, indoors and outdoors throughout the day. Regular interactions with animals of varying species and temperaments. Shared workspaces and a collaborative culture.
