Animal Control Officer (Temp-to-Hire)

$13.25 per hour
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-3:30
PM Weekend Requirement:
Rotating weekends for animal feeding and kennel maintenance
Opportunity:
Temporary position with potential for permanent hire by the City Job Description Remedy Staffing is currently seeking a dependable and compassionate Animal Control Officer for a local municipal agency. This position plays an important role in protecting public safety, promoting animal welfare, and supporting shelter operations. The Animal Control Officer will respond to animal-related calls, provide humane care for animals, maintain shelter facilities, and assist with enforcing local animal control ordinances. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity with the potential to become a permanent employee. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Respond to calls regarding stray, injured, abandoned, or nuisance animals. Safely capture, restrain, and transport animals using humane handling techniques. Investigate animal-related complaints and ordinance violations. Complete reports and maintain accurate records. Feed, water, and monitor animals housed at the shelter. Clean and sanitize kennels, cages, and animal housing areas. Observe animal health and report concerns to appropriate personnel. Provide professional customer service to residents and visitors. Perform rotating weekend duties, including feeding animals and cleaning kennels. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Required Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to safely handle animals of various sizes and temperaments. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Strong communication and customer service skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience in animal control, animal welfare, veterinary services, animal shelter operations, law enforcement, code enforcement, or a related field. Knowledge of animal behavior and humane animal handling practices. Experience working with the public and resolving concerns professionally. Why Apply for the Position?
