Job Description

Field Service Officer We are on a mission to promote the welfare of animals and to improve the lives of animals both in the shelter and throughout our community. How does a Field Service Officer help achieve this mission? Our Field Service Officers are responsible for upholding Maryland State Laws and the Washington County statutes in regard to animal welfare Capturing and impounding dangerous or stray animals Investigating cases of animal cruelty Providing expert testimony in court Rescuing trapped animals Writing incident reports Educating the public on the humane treatment of animals What qualifications does a candidate for Field Service Officer need to be considered? You must be 18 yrs. old to apply You must have a valid driver's license and a clean criminal background check. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills. Four other important facts to know: Normal schedule will coincide with, but may vary within, the HSWC normal business hours, based on departmental needs.
