Job Description

Description:
This position will be responsible for the care of animals and maintaining working relationships with animal rescue groups to focus on adopting animals. Duties performed but not limited to cleaning of the shelter, feeding animals, socializing animals, assisting the public with adoptions, and educating public regarding spay/neuter and rabies. Applicant must have strong communication skills, computer knowledge, and relate well with people from all socioeconomic groups. Must be able to handle animals of all sizes and breeds. This position will report directly to the Animal Control Supervisor.
Requirements :
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school and one year of office and/or animal shelter experience. All health department employees (with the exception of individuals with an accommodation or medical exemption) are required to get an annual flu shot vaccine as part of condition of employment. Possession of a driver's license valid in the State of North Carolina.
