Job Description

Job Summary Join our dedicated team as a Dog Control Officer, where you will play a vital role in maintaining community safety and dog welfare. This energetic position involves enforcing local dog control laws, managing stray and dangerous dogs, and ensuring humane treatment of dogs. You will serve as a key liaison between the public, law enforcement agencies, and dog care organizations, promoting responsible pet ownership and public safety through proactive engagement and enforcement. Your leadership skills and commitment to dog care will help foster a safer, more compassionate community. Duties Enforce local laws related to dog control, including licensing, leash laws, and dangerous dog regulations Respond promptly to calls regarding stray, aggressive, or injured dogs in various environments Investigate reports of cruelty or neglect of dogs, gathering evidence in accordance with evidence law and procedural law Capture and handle dogs humanely using proper animal handling techniques while ensuring public safety Write detailed reports documenting incidents, investigations, and enforcement actions with clarity and precision Assist in search and seizure operations following legal procedures to confiscate dogs when necessary Collaborate with law enforcement agencies during criminal investigations involving dogs or related criminal activity Maintain accurate records of all activities, incidents, and evidence collected during investigations Qualifications Dog handling expertise combined with a genuine passion for animal welfare and care Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Join us in making a meaningful difference by ensuring community safety through diligent enforcement, compassionate care of dogs, and proactive public engagement.
