Animal Services Data Specialist We are seeking a skilled Animal Services Data Specialist for our Animal Pathways department to manage the daily flow of animals and review and correct information entered into Petpoint. Position requires superior data entry skills, attention to detail, prior experience working with animals and the ability to cope and participate with euthanasia decisions.

Job duties include:

Walking daily medical shelter rounds with a focus on inputting, reviewing, and correcting information. Audit animal records to verify they are up to date on vaccinations and required procedures. Schedule procedures that need to be completed. Check animal records for correct intake information including correct address, zip code, jurisdiction, agency, or person. Verify information for animals that have been here previously, verify their records merged properly. Assist with Petpoint reporting. Attend Petpoint Webinars and stay up to date with software releases, updates, and developments as they relate to animal flow, health, and behavior. Enter information in Petpoint verifying all information is accurate. Assist with weekly food count and inventory in our warehouse. Assist in cleaning and setting up kennels.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent. Valid SC drivers license. High degree of organizational skills and attention to detail. Advanced communication skills orally and written. Proficient data entry skills. Ability to be flexible to frequent procedure changes or task assignments. Prior experience working with animals. Ability to cope with euthanasia decisions. Prior experience working in the animal medical field, a plus. Team player willing to work in multiple departments.

Additional information:

Physical requirements include walking, standing, crouching, lifting, climbing ladder and moving of animals and shelter equipment (ability to lift 50lbs). Ability to stand for extended periods. Ability to handle sensitive and emotional situations. Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check. Must be able to cope with euthanasia decisions.

Shift:

Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm (extended hours will be required and an occasional weekend).
