Job Description
Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant — DOT Medical Examiner Unif Health — Berkeley, CA Part-time, 3 days per week
• New graduates welcome About Us Unif Health is an occupational health testing company in Berkeley, California. We provide DOT and non-DOT physical examinations, pulmonary function and audiometric testing, drug and alcohol testing, and physical agility evaluations for employers across the Bay Area, including transit and municipal agencies. The Role We are hiring a California-licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to perform FMCSA medical examinations at our Berkeley clinic. This is a part-time position, three days per week, and we are looking to fill it as soon as possible. New graduates are welcome to apply. DOT examinations follow a clear, well-defined federal standard, which makes this an excellent setting to build clinical judgment and confidence early in your career. You will be supported, and we will help you get certified. What You'll Do Perform DOT and non-DOT physical examinations at our Berkeley office Conduct and interpret pulmonary function tests (spirometry) Conduct and review audiometric (hearing) testing Administer physical agility evaluations Determine medical certification status in accordance with FMCSA standards and complete required documentation Maintain accurate, complete examination records Minimum Qualifications Current, unrestricted license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the State of California A current FMCSA Medical Examiner's Certificate and listing on the National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners — or willingness to obtain certification within two weeks of hire Professional, steady manner with patients; you will be examining people whose employment depends on the outcome, and consistency and neutrality matter Helpful, Not Required Prior occupational health or DOT examination experience NIOSH-approved spirometry training CAOHC certification as an Occupational Hearing Conservationist Bilingual (Spanish or other languages) If you are new to occupational medicine, we will provide orientation and training in our protocols, equipment, and documentation standards. Schedule Part-time, 3 days per week ( Monday, Tuesdays, Friday, Wednesdays) On-site in Berkeley, CA. This position is not remote. To Apply Apply through Indeed with your resume.
