Literature course. The International Baccalaureate® (IB) is a non-profit educational foundation offering four programmes of internationaleducation that develop the intellectual, personal, emotional and social skills needed to live, learn and work in a rapidly globalizingworld. We strive to develop students who will build a better world through intercultural understanding and respect. One of thecharacteristics of the IB's Diploma Programme is that students are required to study, as one of six subjects that constitute the diploma,one of three 'Language A' courses, each designed to develop high social, aesthetic and cultural literacy, as well as communication skills.

The language

A:

literature course introduces students to the analysis of literary texts. It is the course through which the IB's policy ofmother-tongue entitlement is delivered. The course is automatically available in 55 languages and available by special request and may bestudied in any language with a sufficiently developed written literature. The duties of DER include the setting and marking ofexaminations and determining final grades of students. You must:

have a degree or equivalent in thesubject (or a related subject) for which you are applying, have a minimum of one year's experience teaching the subject (or arelated subject) for which they are applying to students of: 16 to 18 years of age (DP) be native speaker/fluentin English and Italian in order to write reports and mark students' written and spoken responses.
