Position Overview:

The Chief Forensic Death Investigator is the senior investigative and operational authority responsible for managing Parker County's medicolegal death-investigation function. The position directs, supervises, coordinates, and participates in investigations of sudden, unexpected, unattended, suspicious, violent, traumatic, or otherwise reportable deaths occurring within Parker County and works within the SOP of the Tarrant County Medical Examiner jurisdiction. The Chief ensures that death investigations are conducted thoroughly, objectively, professionally, and in accordance with applicable Texas law, Medical Examiner policies, accepted forensic practices, evidence-handling requirements, and professional medicolegal death-investigation standards. The position provides technical leadership and coordinates with forensic pathologists, law-enforcement agencies, prosecutors, hospitals, EMS, funeral homes, laboratories, families, and other governmental agencies.

Pay:

$41.83 - $44.83 per hour
