Company Overview The Florida Department of Corrections is dedicated to maintaining a safe, secure, humane, and efficient correctional system. With a focus on rehabilitation and public safety, the department operates numerous facilities across the state and supervises thousands of offenders in the community. Overview We are seeking energetic and motivated Correctional Officer Trainees (non-certified) and Correctional Officers (certified) to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for supervising incarcerated individuals, ensuring facility security, and maintaining order within correctional environments. This position offers an exciting opportunity to serve the community while developing essential law enforcement skills in a fast-paced setting. Duties Supervise inmate activities and enforce facility rules Write detailed reports on inmate incidents, security breaches, and daily activities using correctional facility report writing standards Conduct security checks, inmate supervision rounds, and emergency response readiness drills to maintain a safe environment Experience No experience needed. We will train you training provided. Qualifications Be at least 18 years of age (no maximum age restriction) Be a United States Citizen Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Possess a valid driver's license. Pass a drug test and physical examination. Pass a background investigation and fingerprinting, which includes no felony convictions; no misdemeanor involving perjury or false statement; no misdemeanor conviction of domestic violence. Must demonstrate good moral character as determined by a thorough background investigation.
