Job Description

About us Phillips State Prison is a medium security facility located in Gwinnett County. We are better together change agents working to protect Georgians while providing opportunities for offender rehabilitation.
Our work environment includes:

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain a secure facility
  • Manage offenders in their living, work, education, group areas
  • Supervise offender activities and behaviors
  • Expedite searches while confiscating all contraband items
  • Enforce rules and regulations
  • Assist fellow officers by responding to emergencies and disturbances
  • Conduct inmate counts, searches, and inspections
  • Escort offenders to various locations
  • Complete accurate and detailed reports of incidents, activities, and inmate behavior
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Must pass: Basic Reading/Writing, Drug, Integrity, and Background tests
  • Must be a United States citizen (Not a Work Permit)
  • Must successfully complete Basic Correction Officer Training
  • Must adhere to the uniform, dress, and grooming policies
