Job Description
The purpose of this classification is to gather information and provide recommendations regarding bond requirements and conditions for eligible detainees prior to trial dates. Distinguishing Characteristics This classification is distinguished from Pre-Trial Release Officer I in that incumbents in this class provide lead guidance and direction the Pre-Trial Release Officer I's, are assigned the more complex cases and have two years of experience. Leads and or coordinates daily work activities of assigned crew or co-workers: confers with supervisor to obtain direction regarding work assignments and priorities; confers with co-workers, assists with complex situations or problems, and provides technical expertise; assists with training and instructing co-workers regarding operational procedures and proper use of software/equipment; and assists with supervision of co-workers by reporting employee problems and providing input on disciplinary action and employee performance evaluations. Conducts interviews with defendants, victims, family members, and references: gathers defendant's demographic information, residence, employment, criminal history, driving records, and other pertinent information; completes intake process; verifies references; evaluates defendants against established program requirements; and prepares release recommendations.
