Job Description

Entry level position. upon completion of training, new candidates will work closely with supervisors and other staff to maintain custody, care, and control of individuals within the facility.
PRE EMPLYMENT BACKGROUND AND DRUG SCREENING REQUIRED
Primary duties and responsibilities: Oversee and monitor the activities of the individuals in housing area, recreation, activities areas, and visitation areas. Coordinates and monitors individuals' movements and conducts counts. Candidates will be trained to work various posts including booking and control center. Candidates will be trained on preparing reports and maintaining daily logs. Candidates will help promote facility cleanliness. Monitor individuals' behavior and report unusual activity to ensure safety and security Escort individuals to court, medical facilities, classrooms or wherever they are needed in a timely, secure manner. Assist other Detention Officers with management of individuals Conduct regular searches of individuals areas like cells, recreation room for unauthorized items Manage confrontational situations as the arise to maintain security Performs other duties as directed
Minimum Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent certification required.
