Job Overview As a Correctional Officer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining safety and security within the correctional facility. You will be responsible for overseeing the daily activities of inmates, enforcing rules and regulations, and ensuring a safe environment for both staff and inmates. This position requires strong conflict management skills, attention to detail, and the ability to respond effectively in emergency situations. After probationary period if no incidents pay increases to $15 an hour. Additional pay increase possible with experience in corrections or law enforcement. Conduct regular inspections of the facility, including surveillance through CCTV systems. Respond to incidents and emergencies, providing first aid and CPR as necessary. Prepare detailed reports on incidents, inmate behavior, and daily activities. Collaborate with law enforcement and security personnel to ensure compliance with legal standards. Participate in conflict management strategies to de-escalate potentially volatile situations. Assist in the rehabilitation process by engaging with inmates in a professional manner. Requirements Valid Driver's License is required Must pass a criminal background check and drug test Previous experience in corrections, law enforcement, or military service is preferred but not mandatory. Strong skills in report writing to document incidents accurately. Excellent conflict management skills to handle difficult situations effectively. A commitment to maintaining safety protocols within the correctional environment. Must possess strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
