This role is ideal for someone who excels in compliance, documentation, and operational oversight — and who is committed to maintaining a safe, secure environment for youth and staff. As the Key Control Officer, you'll conduct inspections, develop policies, manage key-control systems, and administer the Office of Risk Management's Loss Prevention Program. You'll serve as a liaison with regulatory agencies, assist with safety training, review incidents, and ensure all safety-related documentation is accurate and timely. You'll also supervise control center personnel, conduct security rounds, oversee youth movement, and respond to emergencies as needed. Possession of a high school diploma or GED or one year of experience in any field plus: Two years of experience in a residential, correctional, behavioral health, or group home setting with responsibility for one or more of the following: rehabilitation of delinquent youth, clinical care, custody, or security; OR Two years of experience in Probation and Parole.

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must be at least 18 years of age. An applicant who has been convicted of a felony or who is under indictment on a felony charge will be disqualified until relief from disabilities imposed by state and federal laws is granted. In accordance with the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) (Part 115:17) of Title 28 of the Code of Federal Regulations an applicant who has been found to have engaged in any form of sexual abuse; engaged in sexual activity in the community facilitated by force, overt or implied threats of force, or coercion, or if the victim did not consent or was unable or refused will be disqualified. Job Duties:

Manages key control operations — develops policies, conducts inspections across ACY campuses, reviews security reports, and ensures compliance with OJJ and facility standards. Administers safety and loss-prevention programs — implements Office of Risk Management safety requirements, reviews accidents and incidents, and prepares reports for appropriate authorities. Serves as safety liaison — coordinates with government agencies on safety codes, fire prevention, sanitation, and environmental standards; assists with monitoring health regulations. Ensures staff training and documentation — verifies employees are properly trained in equipment use, maintains supporting documentation, and serves as backup to the Safety Officer. Maintains facility security operations — supervises youth and staff movement, conducts security rounds, performs perimeter checks, and prepares shift reports and documentation. Supervises control center personnel — oversees Front Gate/Inquiry staff, manages time and attendance, and completes planning and evaluation responsibilities. Responds to emergencies — conducts searches, enforces contraband-control policies, maintains 24-hour on-call readiness, and completes required documentation.
