Job Description

Town of Thomaston Seeks Part-Time Patrol Officer The Town of Thomaston is seeking a Part‑Time Patrol Officer to help keep our town safe, welcoming, and connected. Work in a vibrant, MidCoast town filling 20-hours per week in two, 10-hour shifts alongside our Full-Time Officers.
What We're Looking For Community Protector:
Enforce state and local laws while assisting residents with non‑criminal concerns and general safety needs.
Patrol & Prevent:
Patrol assigned areas, engage in proactive crime prevention and traffic control, and respond to incidents from routine calls to serious emergencies.
Responder Extraordinaire:
Serve as the go‑to for public assistance, accident response, and criminal investigations, staying calm and effective in high‑pressure situations.
Professional & Proactive Policing:
Communicate clearly and respectfully while building positive working relationships, providing credible courtroom testimony, and applying modern policing practices and sound judgment—whether working independently or as part of a team.
