Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Youth Leader to join our juvenile correctional facility team. In this vital role, you will serve as a positive role model and mentor for incarcerated youth, fostering a safe, supportive environment that encourages rehabilitation and personal growth. Your leadership will help guide young individuals toward constructive behaviors, ensuring compliance with correctional policies while promoting their well-being and development. Duties Supervise and monitor youth inmates to ensure safety, security, and adherence to facility rules using correctional supervision techniques. Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive conduct and resolve conflicts effectively. Conduct regular security checks utilizing CCTV systems and perform inmate headcounts to maintain facility safety. Respond promptly to emergency situations, applying first aid or CPR as needed, and follow emergency response protocols including the application of force or correctional restraint procedures when necessary. Document incidents, inmate behavior reports, and daily activities accurately through detailed correctional facility report writing. Assist in implementing criminal justice policies and correctional policy compliance to uphold legal standards and safety regulations. Engage in manual handling tasks including heavy lifting and safe inmate restraint procedures while maintaining personal safety and security. Requirements Proven experience working with incarcerated individuals or in law enforcement, military, or security roles involving inmate supervision is preferred but we will provide training if you do not this specific experience Basic understanding of criminal justice policy, correctional policy compliance, and inmate behavior management techniques. Excellent report writing skills with attention to detail for documenting incidents accurately. Demonstrated ability to work under pressure in high-stakes environments while maintaining professionalism and composure.
