Correctional Officers are responsible for the secure and efficient functioning of the Lancaster County Detention Center. Candidates with current correctional certifications qualify for higher pay on our career ladder and candidates holding college degrees will receive incentive pay. Selected candidates must complete Basic Jail Training at the SC Criminal Justice Academy, as well as a training period with a Field Training Officer. Correctional Officers receive a comprehensive benefits package.
