Job Description
Job Responsibilities Under general supervision of the Shift Lieutenant, assist in instructing and directing officers in a program of discipline. Is responsible for the overall supervision of subordinate security assigned to the housing unit and for the supervision, custody, and control of all inmates assigned to the housing units. Make routine inspections of the living areas for compliance with security, safety, and sanitation standards. Conduct investigations of alleged misconduct on the part of inmates and security personnel assigned. Assist in conducting formal and informal counts. Supervises job performance, conduct and appearance of security personnel. Counsel, recommend, disciplinary action, train subordinate staff and prepare reports as needed. Perform duties of Lieutenant when necessary. Must successfully complete eight (8) weeks of SCDC Basic Training upon hire.
