Today Job Description The Edmunds County Sheriff's Office is seeking a responsible individual as a full-time Corrections Officer/ Jailer in our new Jail Facility located in Ipswich, SD. Applicants must be 18 years of age, have a valid driver's license, be able to pass a background check, and pass a drug test. Applicants must be of good moral character. Starting wage for Jail staff is an average of $24.66 per hour after a probationary period. Opportunities for overtime are available. An individual with Corrections Experience is preferred but we are willing to train the right candidate. Our ideal candidate would be a self motivated individual with a drive in maintaining order. Benefits include health insurance, paid time off, longevity pay, and sick leave. State retirement is included. Hours of employment have flexible scheduling and rotating shift work.
