•$55,568 As a Detention Officer with the Sheriff's Office at the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center, you help protect the safety, security, and well-being of inmates, staff, and the public. This Full-Time role supports orderly operations through consistent supervision, clear communication, and accurate documentation. Key responsibilities include enforcing facility rules and maintaining discipline; processing and booking incoming inmates; observing inmate activity and behavior; coordinating access to meals, medical care, and needed supplies; providing courtroom/courthouse security; transporting inmates; and completing reports and records.

Ability to follow procedures, exercise sound judgment, and remain calm under pressure
