Key Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required Proficiency in Braille transcription and strong understanding of Braille standards Experience as a paraprofessional or in a support role with students preferred Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Compassionate, patient nature and a commitment to educational equity Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, specialists, and support staff Flexibility and adaptability in dynamic classroom settings

Primary Responsibilities:

Transcribe classroom materials into Braille, ensuring students with visual impairments can access the curriculum fully Support teachers by preparing Braille resources and adapting instructional content Provide one-on-one or small-group assistance to students, reinforcing lessons and encouraging independent learning Assist with classroom management and foster a positive, inclusive environment Monitor student progress and offer constructive feedback Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when handling student information Collaborate with educational teams to plan and execute individualized education programs (IEPs) Help facilitate smooth communication between students, educators, and families
