(BAND LEVEL 3) (CLINICAL
PRACTICE CLERK
) Discipline of Family Medicine Faculty of Medicine Full-time, Contractual to July 1, 2027 This competition may be used to fill identical positions in this unit within three (3) months of the closing date All qualified employees are welcome to , however preference is given to CUPE members DUTIES This position is located at the Ross Family Medicine Clinic, L.A. Miller Centre, St. John's. The successful applicant will be responsible for performing complex and difficult clerical work and exercising considerable independent judgment in a fully computerized medical office environment in an academic clinical teaching setting. Duties include maintaining schedules for multiple professionals including clinical faculty, residents and medical students; using an electronic medical records system, booking medical appointments; greeting and directing patients; arranging specialist appointments for clinic patients; liaising with other health care professionals, coordinating with the academic unit of the teaching program regarding academic scheduling components; typing letters, memoranda, reports and forms from rough draft and/or dictating equipment; entering and retrieval of data from computerized systems; scanning of patient documentation to an electronic medical records system, billing and invoicing for clinical services; photocopying, scanning and faxing various documents as appropriate; filing various documents and materials; and performing other related duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience (1-3 years) in general clerical work; graduation from 2-year diploma program in office administration; or any equivalent combination of experience and training. Knowledgeable in the use of Electronic Medical Record (EMR) program. The ideal candidate will have the ability to pay strict attention to detail, possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently as well as be a contributing member of a team in a fast-paced environment. Previous experience working in a medical clinic, strong knowledge of computers, Microsoft Office, medical terminology and MCP billing is required. SALARY $47,057 - $55,196 per annum (CUPE)
