Job Description
Digital Court Reporter About the Opportunity CRC Salomon is seeking qualified Digital Court Reporters to provide in-person digital court reporting services in the Baltimore, Maryland area. The Digital Court Reporter is responsible for accurately capturing and preserving the audio record during depositions, hearings, and other legal proceedings. CRC Salomon is a nationally recognized court reporting firm serving federal and state courts, government agencies, law firms, and attorneys. We provide training on our programs and workflow to selected contractors. Responsibilities Set up and test digital recording equipment before each proceeding. Capture and preserve a complete, high-quality audio record of legal proceedings. Create detailed log notes and annotations identifying important testimony and events. Provide playback of testimony when requested. Mark and manage exhibits as directed during proceedings. Complete required reports, logs, and other documentation accurately and on time. Communicate promptly and professionally with clients, attorneys, and CRC Salomon staff. Maintain a professional, neutral, and discreet presence throughout proceedings. Follow CRC Salomon procedures for digital recording and proceeding documentation. Required Qualifications At least 1 year of experience as a certified court reporter or legal videographer, OR 3+ years of experience in digital court reporting or legal videography. Working knowledge of legal terminology, legal documents, and court procedures. Experience with digital audio recording technology and related software and hardware. Proficiency with computers, software applications, and web-conferencing platforms such as Zoom and Webex. Strong verbal, written, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise professional discretion. Professional appearance and demeanor appropriate for legal proceedings. Ability to provide reliable equipment for assignments, including: Laptop or desktop computer with camera and microphone Windows 10 or Windows 11 operating system Backup recording device Reliable high-speed internet connection Legally authorized to work in the United States.
