The Forensic Products Technician is responsible for the manufacturing, blending, assembly, filling, packaging, inspection, and labeling of crime scene investigation and forensic evidence collection products. Products may include fingerprint powders, chemical solutions and reagents, evidence collection supplies, crime scene kits, and related forensic products. This position requires close attention to detail, the ability to accurately follow established formulas, work instructions, safety procedures, and quality requirements, and the ability to safely handle powders, chemicals, and other manufacturing materials. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform light manufacturing, production, assembly, and packaging of crime scene investigation and forensic evidence collection products.
• Measure, weigh, mix, blend, and package fingerprint powders and other powdered products according to established formulas and manufacturing instructions.
• Measure, mix, dilute, fill, and package chemical solutions, reagents, and other forensic products according to approved procedures.
• Accurately use scales, balances, graduated containers, measuring devices, mixers, dispensing equipment, and other light manufacturing equipment.
• Follow established formulas, batch records, work instructions, and standard operating procedures to ensure consistency and product quality.
• Fill bottles, jars, containers, applicators, and other packaging with finished powders, liquids, chemicals, and related materials.
• Assemble crime scene investigation kits, evidence collection kits, and other forensic products according to bills of materials, work instructions, and product specifications.
• Apply product labels, lot numbers, expiration dates, hazard information, and other required identification to finished products and packaging.
• Perform visual and basic quality inspections of raw materials, work-in-process materials, and finished products.
• Verify correct materials, quantities, components, labels, and packaging before products are released to the next stage of production.
• Complete batch records, production records, work orders, inspection documentation, and other required manufacturing documentation accurately and legibly.
• Maintain proper identification and traceability of raw materials, batches, components, and finished products.
• Assist with receiving, stocking, inventory control, material handling, and movement of raw materials and finished goods as needed.
• Package and prepare finished products for inventory or shipment.
• Clean and maintain production equipment, utensils, containers, work surfaces, and manufacturing areas according to established procedures.
• Prevent contamination and cross-contamination of products by following established cleaning, material handling, and production procedures.
• Maintain an organized, clean, and safe manufacturing environment.
• Perform other manufacturing, assembly, warehouse, and operational duties as assigned. Chemical Handling and Safety Responsibilities
• Safely handle chemicals, powders, solvents, and other manufacturing materials in accordance with company procedures and applicable safety requirements.
• Review and follow Safety Data Sheets (SDS), product-specific safety instructions, and chemical handling procedures.
• Properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE), which may include safety glasses or goggles, gloves, protective clothing, and respiratory protection when required and when properly trained and authorized.
• Use appropriate ventilation, containment, or other engineering controls when handling powders, chemicals, or materials requiring such controls.
• Properly label, store, handle, and dispose of chemicals and manufacturing materials according to established procedures.
• Promptly report spills, leaks, unsafe conditions, chemical exposures, defective equipment, or other safety concerns to management.
• Follow established spill response, emergency, and chemical exposure procedures.
• Maintain good housekeeping practices to minimize powder, chemical, and contamination hazards.

Quality Responsibilities Because products manufactured by the company are used by law enforcement, crime scene investigators, forensic professionals, and other public safety personnel, employees are expected to maintain a high level of accuracy, consistency, and attention to product quality.

The employee is responsible for:

• Following approved formulas, manufacturing instructions, and quality procedures without unauthorized substitutions or deviations.
• Accurately measuring and documenting ingredients and materials used in production.
• Verifying product identity, quantity, labeling, and packaging.
• Identifying and reporting products or materials that do not meet specifications.
• Maintaining batch and lot traceability as required.
• Reporting manufacturing errors, discrepancies, contamination concerns, or quality issues immediately.
• Following applicable quality system procedures and document control requirements. Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous manufacturing, production, laboratory, chemical handling, assembly, or similar hands-on experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to accurately follow written formulas, recipes, work instructions, and safety procedures.
• Ability to safely work with chemicals and powdered materials after appropriate training.
• Basic math skills, including the ability to perform measurements and calculate or verify quantities.
• Ability to accurately use scales, measuring devices, and basic production equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive production tasks consistently.
• Ability to read product labels, Safety Data Sheets, work instructions, and production documentation.
• Ability to maintain accurate production and quality records.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a manufacturing team.
• Dependable attendance and ability to maintain established production, quality, and safety standards. Physical Requirements The employee must be able to:
• Stand and/or walk for extended periods during the workday.
• Frequently use hands and fingers to measure, mix, fill, package, assemble, and handle materials and products.
• Bend, reach, stoop, push, pull, and perform other movements associated with manufacturing and material handling.
• Regularly lift and carry materials, containers, and finished products weighing up to 50 pounds .
• Safely operate light manufacturing, mixing, filling, and packaging equipment.
• Have sufficient visual acuity to read measurements, formulas, labels, lot numbers, and production documentation and to inspect product quality.

Pay:

$13.00 - $14.00 per hour Expected hours: 4.0 per week
