This position is designated as a secondary law enforcement position for the purposes of retirement coverage under the law enforcement officer (LEO) retirement provisions. For individuals currently covered by the LEO retirement provisions, this position meets the provisions for continuation of LEO retirement coverage. Non-LEOs are eligible to apply for this position. The incumbent of this position is subject to random drug screening and updated background investigations every five years. Applicants must have demonstrated experience as listed below. This requirement is according to the AO Classification, Compensation, and Recruitment Systems which include interpretive guidance and reference to the OPM Operating Manual for Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions.

Specialized Experience :

Applicants must have at least one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience which is in or directly related to the line of work of this position. Specialized experience is demonstrated experience in each of the following: Serving as an authority or subject matter expert in the assessment and development of policies and procedures focused on individuals who use cyber technologies for illegal purposes. Coordinating or managing a cybercrime management program or a program related to law enforcement, including conducting research, tracking and evaluating program data, monitoring trends to identify program successes and opportunities for improvement, and leading strategic planning and vision casting. Serving as an authority or subject matter expert on cybercrime management within a community corrections agency or serving as an authority or subject matter expert in criminal investigations of cybercrimes which required the use of digital forensic tools and methods.
