Provides expert witness testimony; produces comprehensive reports and illustrive exhibits for federal, ste, and local judicial proceedings a level sufficient to explain evidence interpretions and conclusions from forensic examinions and scientific da to a lay audience. Serves as a subject mter expert and technical advisor in mters reling to the proper collection, preservion, packaging, and submission of digital and multimedia evidence; participes in crime scene evidence collection activities in major field investigions; ensures evidence handling requirements are met. Performs ongoing evaluion and validion of laborory instrumention and methods, opering protocols, and safety practices under supervision; maintains awareness of safety procedures and identifies possible physical conditions and/or laborory procedures th may cree unsafe conditions. Delivers training in laborory services, evidence collection, crime scene processing and field examinion. Conducts studies and research for improving forensic analyses, scientific methods, and resolving forensic examinion problems. Acts as liaison with postal management and federal, ste, and local organizions on technical developments, forensic methods, and investigive problems of common interest. Analyzes systems to assist with network intrusion and cybersecurity investigions to determine the cause and extent of a breach. Qualificions Ability to communice orally and in writing in order to prepare reports of examinion results and conclusions, and provide testimony as an expert witness before ste, federal or other judicial bodies. Ability to provide training reled to laborory services, evidence collection, and field examinion. Knowledge of evidence collection, preservion, packaging and shipment procedures sufficient to serve as a technical advisor in such mters and to ensure evidence handling requirements are met. Knowledge of forensic science techniques, laborory protocols, research methodologies, quality assurance standards and computer forensic and cyber security examinion procedures, instrumention and software sufficient to properly access, preserve, and extract approprie evidence from a variety of media and conduct detailed and complex analyses and interpretion of the value of evidentiary items. Ability to render conclusions/opinions and make recommendions based on forensic practices of recognition, collection, and interpretion of digital and multimedia evidence reled to computer forensic examinions. Ability to conduct and document scientific research reled to computer forensic examinions.
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION
Bachelor's degree in computer sciences, forensic science, or a closely reled field from a college or university accredited by a nional or regional accredition organizion recognized and sanctioned by the U.S. Department of Educion.
