Immediately Job Description The Database Manager is responsible for managing the Bridgewater-Raynham Regional School District's (BRRSD) Student Information System (SIS) and ensuring that all student information systems and databases contain accurate, current, and secure information. This position provides direct SIS support and training to end-users, administrative and support staff across all BRRSD schools and district departments; manages user accounts, school database systems, communication systems, and information sharing; coordinates workflow processes; prepares and submits DESE, state, and federal reports; and oversees year-end database rollovers. The successful candidate will be highly organized, self-directed, and collaborative, with the ability to plan projects, manage competing priorities, and complete tasks efficiently while providing exceptional support to district personnel.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Assembling, generating and submitting all required state and federal reports by reporting deadlines. (SIMS, SCS, EPIMS, SSDR, and CRDC). This includes increased data cleansing for reporting via SIF Coordinate processes and deadlines as needed to gather, report, and organize data reported to the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) on students Coordinate processes and deadlines as the need to gather, report, and organize data on Civil Rights Data Report (CRDR) reported to the Federal Government on students Attend state DESE meetings related to data reporting and analysis Manage enrollment, budget, and renewals of programs Oversees Registration process, data integrity and compliance with records Collaborate with the District's Transportation partner, to maintain accurate transportation assignments for all students Assist with routing and planning for all transportation. Student Information System Monitor automated data transfers from the SIS as necessary (particularly DESE) Prepare and conduct manual data transfers from the SIS as necessary/requested Support parents/guardians with students and parent accounts in PowerSchool, School Messenger and maintain portals Entry support and maintenance of staff demographic, onboarding, contact licensure, qualifications, and district employment history. Entry support and maintenance of student enrollment, demographics, and contact information Responsible for data transfer between SIS and other software applications used throughout the district to support administrative and teaching and learning needs Apply patches and upgrades as suggested by the manufacturer of SIS Coordinate, enter, import, export, and clean data for various systems, including network account information, telephone system information, HR, photos, IDs, food services, health, and other systems as needed Support Student Service with management of PowerSchool Special Programs Support, Training & Knowledge Training and providing on-going support to Administrative Assistants, Administrators, and support staff on functions associated with their roles in PowerSchool SIS. This includes one-on-one or small group sessions Assist with retrieving information and generating local reports from the SIS Train personnel, as necessary, to enhance staff usage of SIS. Assist with the creation of workflow processes to manage and secure student data and electronic records Act as a liaison to SIS vendors regarding enhancements, requests, and customization issues of the SIS software Additional Responsibilities Prepares data in conjunction with the End of Year data rollover in preparation for the new school year Collaborates with Human Resources on staffing information for state reporting Create procedures and instruction guides regarding data collection and reporting for school district personnel Oversees and completes annual set up and maintenance of calendars Complete the School Attending January 1st report Serve as the DESE Directory Administrator Coordinate PowerSchool SIS projects to design, implement, modify or build as needed Maintain the archival database for longitudinal reporting Provides technical support for the district website Ensuring that the Student Information System (PowerSchool SIS) is operating correctly and that end users have appropriate access Assist in training new Administrators on using the emergency notification system, School Messenger Assist all schools with scheduling and student placement Conducts other administrative and staff duties as directed by Superintendent of Schools or as needed by the District Core Applications Managed PowerSchool & PowerScheduler PowerSchool Enrollment System PowerSchool Special Programs Clever School Messenger Traverse Transportation Software Qualifications Bachelors Degree preferred Three years of experience preferred Experience with a student information systems, PowerSchool preferred Experience with importing and exporting data between a student information system and other district database systems Exceptional communicator both verbally and in writing
