Job Description

A. POSITION SUMMARY
The Incident Management Investigator Specialist (IMIS) works closely with the Incident Management Investigator to complete investigations into situations which may violate a person's rights and/or protections in accordance with OPWDD and Justice Center regulations.
B. POSITION DUTIES
1. Works closely with the Incident Management Investigator. 2. Participates in weekly group and individual supervision as scheduled. 3. Reviews, analyses, and evaluates investigative files to determine whether additional documents or interviews are required beyond the initial request. 4. Completes Justification for Delays as directed by Incident Management Investigator. 5. Reviews files to ensure the investigative record is complete and thorough with all required documents and interviews once the IMIS-I indicates all requests have been fulfilled. 6. Writes

Final Report drafts as assigned. 7. Assists Incident Management Investigator with interviews as needed. 8. Requests additional documents and/or interviews following Incident Review Committee (IRC) Sub-Committee, OPWDD, or Justice Center (JC) reviews. 9. Alerts Incident Management Investigator and/or Director of Quality Assurance of any new incident reports needed following file reviews. 10. Escalate any obstacles to completing investigations to the Incident Management Investigator and/or Sr. Director of Investigations. 11. Other duties as assigned.
C. REQUIREMENTS
1. Preferred minimum BA/BS in related Human Services Field or licensure in medically related field. 2. Demonstrated computer proficiency, including accurate typing, electronic file management, and effective use of Microsoft Office Suite, OneDrive, SharePoint, and Microsoft Teams. 3. Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to review, organize, assess, and reconcile documentary, testimonial, and other evidence; identify gaps or inconsistencies; and determine when additional information is needed. 4. Strong organizational and time-management skills, including the ability to manage multiple investigations and competing priorities, maintain complete and accurate records, meet established deadlines, and adapt to changing assignments or urgent needs. 5. Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear, objective, fact-based investigative documentation; conduct or support interviews professionally; collaborate with internal and external stakeholders; maintain appropriate confidentiality; and respond to communications promptly. Must be available to work the regular 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. schedule and demonstrate flexibility when operational needs require. 6. Demonstrated judgment, integrity, attention to detail, and commitment to impartial investigation practices. Performs all responsibilities in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, agency policies, investigative protocols, confidentiality requirements, mandatory reporting obligations, and the agency's corporate compliance program, including the Code of Business Conduct, New York State and federal False Claims Acts, and whistleblower protections. Completes required compliance training at least annually and cooperates fully with compliance investigations and reviews.
Base Pay:
$23.07 - $28.50 per hour
