Full Job Description Job Summary Lunch Aide/Recess Aide:
Supervises students in the cafeteria during meals. Maintains regular attendance. Performs other duties as assigned. Circulates among the tables during mealtime to assist children and resolve problems. Supervises students and maintains a cooperative atmosphere during recess. Circulates among students and resolves minor problems as they arise. Informs building administration immediately of any serious disciplinary problems. Ensures that students follow cafeteria rules and procedures. Assists with cleaning up spills and ensuring tables and floors are clean. Provides assistance to students with special needs as required. Encourages positive social interactions among students. Communicates any health or safety concerns to the appropriate staff. Monitors and manages the noise level in the cafeteria and playground. Provides support during indoor recess activities in case of inclement weather. Assists in organizing and supervising games and activities during recess.
Early Morning Aide and Crossing Guard:
Directs or escorts pedestrians across streets, stopping traffic as necessary. Guides or controls vehicular or pedestrian traffic at designated locations. Monitors traffic flow to identify safe gaps for pedestrians to cross streets.
Physical Demands:
Work is performed while standing, sitting, and/or walking. Requires effective communication using speech, vision, and hearing. Requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations. Requires bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching. Requires the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull medium weights, up to 50 pounds.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or G.E.D. Certificate.
