Immediately Job Description Morenci High School is looking for a supervisor for our In-School Suspension (ISS) classroom. This person will be in charge, throughout the day, of students who have been assigned ISS for various infractions and, during lunch time, of students who have been assigned to Lunch Detention. The successful applicant will have good interpersonal skills, conflict resolution skills, and the ability to connect and engage with high school-aged students. They should also understand the fair use of the discipline matrix as published in the Parent/Student Handbook.
Expected Job Responsibilities:
Monitor student behavior in the In-School Suspension (ISS) classroom; Reinforce appropriate behavior and ensure that students stay on task; Clearly communicate ISS and Lunch Detention expectations; Communicate with school administrator, as needed, for behavior issues in ISS; Monitor student work and contact teachers to obtain daily assignments, as needed; Work with students to encourage modified behavior to avoid future referrals; Perform related duties as assigned, including attendance at staff meetings and trainings; May photocopy materials for other staff members; May provide clerical assistance to school staff members as time allows; With a Substitute Certificate, may fill extra hours in the role of a substitute. The position will be at least 30 hours per week with flexibility up to 40 hours, depending on need (usually there is less need in the early parts of a semester than later). Full-time benefits are offered. Substitute certification is need. Must be able to obtain a Level One Fingerprint Card with IVP#at time of employment.
