Requirements:

Degree or Equivalency in Music Therapy Board Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC) Licensed Music Therapist (CT) Valid Driver's License & Reliable Transportation At least 3 years of experience as a full-time music therapist (preferred) Background in mental health and/or developmental disorders (preferred) Experience with IEPs (or educational settings preferred) At least one year of experience supervising students or interns (preferred) Strong clinical writing and documentation skills

Responsibilities:

As a valued member of our clinical team, you will have the opportunity to lead individual and group music therapy sessions with a diverse range of clients, including children and adults with developmental disabilities, mental health disorders, neurological disorders, and wellness needs. Your responsibilities will include creating personalized treatment plans, tracking and analyzing session data, writing detailed clinical reports, managing client schedules, and actively participating in treatment team meetings. Additionally, you may be involved in non-clinical activities, such as teaching music lessons or facilitating music enrichment groups, based on the evolving needs of our clients. As our Lead Student Supervisor, you will play a central role in shaping and leading Infinity Music Therapy Services' student and internship programs. You will oversee our four student and intern programs and serve as a primary point of connection between students, supervisors, universities, and our clinical team. You will provide weekly supervision to support students in their clinical, professional, musical, and personal growth, while coordinating our team of student supervisors to ensure students receive consistent, collaborative, and well-rounded support throughout their experience at Infinity. You will lead the onboarding and placement process for students, maintain relationships with universities and educational programs, and ensure that each student's experience meets applicable academic and program requirements. You will also help grow awareness of our student programs by connecting with colleges, universities, and high schools through presentations, webinars, career days, and other outreach opportunities. As students progress through their placements, you will provide and coordinate clinical supervision, observe sessions, offer meaningful feedback, develop individualized plans for continued skill development, and communicate with other supervisors to support a comprehensive view of each student's growth. You will oversee student reviews, approve student reports, monitor projects and professional expectations, and communicate student performance and progress with university programs as appropriate. You will design student and intern schedules, coordinate supervisor assignments, and help ensure that students have meaningful opportunities to develop the skills they need to enter the music therapy profession. You will also continually evaluate and evolve our student and internship programs to reflect changes in the clinical field, emerging areas of practice, and the evolving skills and competencies needed by future music therapists. In collaboration with the clinical and administrative teams, you will also support outreach and social media efforts related to our student programs and help tell the story of what makes learning at Infinity unique. Ultimately, you will be responsible for creating a student experience that is organized, supportive, clinically meaningful, professionally rigorous, and genuinely focused on helping the next generation of music therapists grow into confident and capable clinicians.

Hours:

This position is full-time, 40hrs per week. Sessions typically occur between 8:30 AM and 7:30 PM, with start and end times that will vary based on your caseload. Please note, your shift will not span the entire operating hours, so there's flexibility in your daily schedule. This position can either be Monday-Friday or Tuesday-Saturday. We value your time, which is why all work hours are paid—including client contact, travel time, session planning, data/documentation, team meetings, and other essential tasks.

Location:

This position is based in Hartford county with a goal of remaining in close proximity to our Southington clinic. Team meetings are conducted every Tuesday from 9:15am-12:00pm. You may work in special education programs, eldercare facilities, group homes, private homes, in clinic, virtually, and more.

Wages:

The salary range is $53,000.00-$54,500.00 to start. We offer higher pay rates for experienced clinicians or those with additional certifications and specialized expertise that enhance their abilities to execute their role. We also offer performance-based bonuses and regular pay reviews to reward hard work and dedication. You will be paid for client contact, travel time, session planning, documentation, and other essential duties, ensuring that all aspects of your work are valued and compensated.

You're either trained in or interested in pursuing music therapy-assisted childbirth to expand your skill set. You have a solid background in mental health or mental health counseling. You're bilingual, particularly in Spanish, and can communicate effectively with a wide range of clients and families. You've worked in private practice previously and bring additional certifications or expertise beyond your MT-BC, allowing you to contribute to our team in unique ways. You are well-versed in IEPs, IDEA, and advocating for the value of music therapy in multidisciplinary team settings. You've taken time to reflect on ableism and are committed to dismantling barriers in your practice to create more inclusive and accessible therapeutic environments. You have built educational programs or supported program design. This Position is NOT for You if… You struggle with reliability or organization.
