Classified Hourly Employee-at-Will FSLA Status:
Non-Exempt
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Supervises students during the lunch period; takes appropriate action as needed to provide a safe and clean environment.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
High school diploma or GED required
Experience:
Experience working with school age children preferred
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Establishes acceptable standards of behavior in the cafeteria Supervises students entering and leaving the cafeteria and assists students with the seating process Supervises the social behavior of students Ensures students adhere to cafeteria procedures and rules Maintains an orderly, clean, and appetizing environment for students to eat lunch Reports inappropriate student behavior to the appropriate personnel Dismisses students in an organized manner Other duties as assigned by administration
Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:
Basic food service operations Ability to supervise students and assure proper conduct in the lunchroom Proper student conduct and discipline Possesses interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy Maintains health and safety regulations Learns district policies and procedures relate to assigned activities Works cooperatively with others
Physical Demands:
Frequent walking, sitting, and standing for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry instructional materials and equipment up to 25 pounds. Dexterity to write on a board, operate a computer, and use other classroom technology. Occasional bending, stooping, and reaching. Clear speech and hearing abilities for effective communication. Visual acuity to read printed and digital materials.
Work Environment:
The noise level in the work environment is that common to a school facility.
