Job Description
Summary We are seeking a dedicated and responsible individual to join our team at Trimpe Middle School as a School Monitor for a part-time position for the 26-27 school year. The School Monitor will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of students during mid-day school hours. This role involves supervising students, maintaining a positive environment, and assisting with various activities to enhance the overall school experience. Responsibilities Supervise students during recess, lunch, and other designated times to ensure safety and proper behavior. Monitor student interactions and intervene when necessary Assist in maintaining a clean and organized environment in common areas, such as playgrounds and lunchrooms. Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents regarding any concerns or incidents. Support teachers and staff in implementing school policies and procedures. Report any safety hazards or maintenance issues to the appropriate personnel. Participate in training sessions and staff meetings as required. Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere that encourages student engagement and cooperation. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous experience working with children in an educational or recreational setting is a plus. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in the welfare of students. Ability to handle challenging situations calmly and effectively. Must pass a background check and comply with school policies and protocols. Availability to work 3 hours per day during school hours (10am-1pm) It is possible that the filling of positions and/or transfers may create vacancies in other positions.
