Starting Hourly Rate:
Grade C $16.86, plus $1.00/hr shift differential or $2.00/hr shift differential for previous law enforcement experience.
Hours/day:
8 Work days/year: 179
SUMMARY:
The student supervisor helps maintain an orderly and safe climate in the school and surrounding campus as assigned. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and ability required. Assistant Principal for Student Services
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent. Appropriate verbal and interpersonal skills for interacting with students, staff and visitors. Knowledge of general behavior management techniques. Ability to follow a schedule while being flexible enough to respond to any given situation. Ability to remain calm and follow appropriate procedures during emergency situations. Basic record keeping skills.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide security for building and surrounding campus throughout the school day. Enforce all school rules and discipline policies as contained in the student handbook. Supervise students in a variety of settings (hallways, cafeteria, etc.) throughout the school day, and after hours as assigned. Maintain confidentiality regarding all student issues. Develop and maintain positive relationships with students, staff and parents. Assist in all emergency procedures as assigned.
PHYSICAL ABILITY
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, talk and hear. This employee will occasionally sit or climb. The employee will occasionally be required to reach with hands and arms. The employee will experience occasional lifting or moving up to 100 lbs., such as assisting with a disabled student. The employee will be required to restrain and/or separate students who may be physically aggressive.
