QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
  • High School Diploma, G.
E.D., or satisfactory progress towards G.E.D.
Knowledge Of:
  • Basic computer skills including use of mouse and keyboard to navigate computer, e-mail, and websites
  • Classroom management techniques
  • Documentation and record-keeping techniques
  • Communication skills
  • Policies and objectives of assigned program and activities
JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Summary:
Monitor students and assure proper conduct in the lunchroom. Help establish and maintain a calm and pleasant atmosphere in the cafeteria so that students may find mealtime a time to relax after the tasks of the morning and to refresh themselves for the tasks of the afternoon; to maintain cleanliness of food service facilities.
Essential Functions, Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Monitor students and assure proper conduct in the lunchroom.
  • Collaborate with food service staff and principal to best meet the needs of the school and students as necessary.
  • Helps students develop and observe proper dining habits, both in terms of etiquette and nutrition.
  • Circulate among tables during the meal period to be available to help students as needed.
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude towards good nutrition.
  • Follow all safety and emergency procedures established by the district and/or school.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and order of the lunchroom.
  • Protect confidential information of students and fellow staff members.
  • Assure compliance with federal, state and district policy, administrative procedures and all other procedures/policies applicable to assignment.
  • Prioritize, plan and organize work to meet schedules and timelines.
  • Follow proper reporting procedures for all matters including but not limited to behavioral issues, bullying, suspected child abuse or neglect, etc.
