JOB DESCRIPTION POSITION
Lunch/Recess Monitor
JOB GOAL
The lunch/recess monitor will support students in the school during lunch and/or recess.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience working with children Flexible with duties and responsibilities. Ability to shift gears as needed.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist children in moving through the lunch line to ensure students are able to get lunch. Assist children as needed with opening food and drink containers. Monitor cafeteria during lunch to ensure that students are eating lunch and behaving according the the school rules. Wipe down tables at the end of each lunch group. Speak in a calm, professional manner to students and other staff members. No yelling at students. Actively play with children during recess. Assist children who need support Actively monitor playground for safety and ensuring students are playing safely. Help students transition to and from recess. Work collaboratively with the building administration, teachers and custodians to ensure that the lunch periods run smoothly and that recess is a safe and fun part of the day.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
180 Days. 2-3 hours per day, depending on the school.
