DUTY AIDE
Position Summary The Duty Aide helps provide a safe, respectful, and well-supervised environment for students during non-instructional times, including arrival, dismissal, lunch, recess, and transitions throughout the school day. Duty Aides work collaboratively with school staff to support positive student behavior and ensure school expectations are followed. Essential Responsibilities Supervise students during arrival, dismissal, lunch, recess, and hallway transitions. Monitor student behavior and reinforce school-wide expectations and positive behavior. Promote a safe and inclusive environment for all students. Assist students in resolving minor conflicts using respectful problem-solving strategies. Report safety concerns, injuries, or significant behavioral incidents to school administrators promptly. Help maintain orderly movement throughout the building and on school grounds. Assist with cafeteria and playground supervision, ensuring students follow school rules. Provide support during emergency drills and follow all school safety procedures. Communicate professionally and respectfully with students, staff, and families as needed. Perform other related duties as assigned by the principal or administrator. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience working with children is preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to remain calm, patient, and professional in a variety of situations. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Reliable, punctual, and dependable. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to respond quickly to student safety needs. Salary commensurate with related experience.
