Job Description

Needham Public Schools is an inclusive, dynamic, and multicultural community seeking an energetic and skilled part-time office assitant to join our team. To enhance our goals of supporting every child, Needham Public Schools seeks candidates with diverse backgrounds and experiences. The part-time office aide will also support students at lunch and recess.

Hours:

4.9 hours per week (Schedule negotiable)

Hourly rate range:

$22.58-$24.88

Essential Job Responsibilities

Duties will include: Complete light office work Support office staff by answering phones and assisting with receptionist tasks

Supervise student lunch and recess, with support from additional staff members

Provide class coverage as needed

Supervise afternoon bus departures

Other duties as assigned

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Ability to carry out verbal and written instructions

Understanding of middle school-aged children

Ability to make decisions at the moment to ensure the safety of all students

Ability to establish a supportive environment for all students

Ability to work collaboratively with multiple team members

Ability to maintain confidential information regarding students and families

Effective written and verbal communication skills

Ability to stand and work both indoors and outdoors for multiple hours

Interest in and appreciation for middle school students Qualifications

Experience working with children and/or adolescents in active settings is a plus.
