09/08/2026 The Afterschool Program Attendant provides essential support for afterschool enrichment classes. This role ensures a smooth transition for students from the regular school day to their enrichment classes, takes attendance, ensures that all students are accounted for, assists instructors during sessions, and facilitates safe, efficient student dismissal and parent pickup.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Student Arrival & Escort:
Greet and check in students as they arrive at the program site; follow up on any missing students; safely escort groups of students to their assigned enrichment rooms.
Classroom Assistance:
Support instructors when needed with student supervision, material distribution, and any immediate needs during class to maintain a safe, positive learning environment.
Parent & Vendor Logistics:
Guide parents to designated pickup areas and classrooms at the end of class; verify authorized pickup contacts as needed.
Program Materials & Site Wrap-Up:
Collect vendor identification badges, attendance binders, and equipment at the end of each daily session and return them to the community education office.
Safety & Communication:
Maintain clear communication with the Enrichment Coordinator regarding student attendance, basic behavioral needs, or operational questions.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must be at least 16 years old. Prior experience working with children in a school, camp, or recreational setting is a plus. Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to walk, stand, and move actively around the facility for the duration of the shift. HOURS Part-time, weekday afternoons (typically 3:15 PM - 5:15 PM, depending on class schedules).
COMPENSATION
$15/hour Sick and Safe Time accrued at a rate of 1 hour for every 30 hours worked.
