Job Description

Monett R-1 School District is seeking applicants for Gatekeeper for the Missouri Comprehensive Afterschool Learning (MOCAL) After-School Program (Cub House) for the 2026/2027 school year.
PROGRAM WORK HOURS
Day school release-5:30 PM Monday-Friday. Program runs an hour longer on Fridays due to early release. A 1:16 adult to student ratio is required at all times; hours will vary depending on grade level and student attendance. This program serves students in grades Pre-K through 5.
JOB SUMMARY
The Gatekeeper's main priority is to supervise the student pick up area and ensure students are signed out by the correct parent or guardian. They may also help supervise students in case of staff to student ratio emergencies. Gatekeepers are responsible for getting to know students, their parents/guardians, and their approved emergency contacts via checking IDs and regular daily contact. They also ensure student safety by making sure unauthorized adults do not enter the program area without the proper identification or permission. Candidates should be personable with good customer service skills, and maintain student confidentiality. $20/hr.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Get to know students, their parents/guardians, and emergency contacts Maintain good relationships with day school teachers and staff, students, and parents Check IDs to ensure students are picked up by the proper adult Enforce Cub House safety and behavior guidelines and consequences Participate in family engagement nights, special speakers, visitors, etc. Adhere to and enforce Cub House policies and procedures Attend all required PD Complete mandatory CPR and safety training as required Complete annual district training Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Must pass a Missouri State Highway Patrol background check (fingerprinting and background check paid for by employee) Previous experience with school age children preferred Applicants must be 18 years of age or older, as per grant requirements Applications will be accepted until position is filled.
