Job Description

Key Duties and Responsibilities Traffic Control:
Assess traffic patterns, judge safe gaps in vehicles, and use hand-held stop paddles or signs to halt oncoming traffic.
Pedestrian Safety:
Escort or direct children and other pedestrians safely across the crosswalk.
Rule Enforcement:
Educate children on safe crossing habits and report reckless drivers or license plate numbers to local authorities.
Vigilance:
Remain alert in all weather conditions (rain, snow, heat) while wearing high-visibility safety gear.
Qualifications and Skills Communication:
Clear verbal communication to instruct children and manage drivers.
Physical Stamina:
Ability to stand, walk, and react quickly in fast-moving traffic situations.
Reliability:
Strong punctuality and consistent attendance during designated school zone hours.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent is usually sufficient, alongside passing a background check and local traffic safety training.
