This opportunity is at Hatboro-Horsham School District Building Aide
  • Part-time Position of 5 hours per day
  • This position supports the school community by supervising and engaging students during lunch, recess, and other non-classroom times, ensuring safety, promoting positive behavior, and fostering an inclusive, enjoyable environment.
The role also provides assistance to teachers and administrators through small-group student support, clerical tasks, and other duties that contribute to the smooth operation of the school. Responsibilities Supervise students in the cafeteria during lunch. Supervise students on the playground during recess. Transition students from the lunchroom to indoor/outdoor Recess Monitor students in classrooms during indoor recess. Teach students how to play at recess to be safe and have fun. Praise students for positive behavior. Teach children how to meet expectations for appropriate behavior. Monitor student behavior to ensure student safety. Clean tables in the cafeteria, if needed. Attend various training courses which the district may offer. Assists in clerical support in the office. Assist with the duplication of any materials that the Principal/Assistant Principal and/or teacher requires. Under the direction of the teacher, work with students in small groups or individually, facilitating learning activities.
Examples:
Under the instruction and direction of the teacher, work with students to facilitate learning centers, math explorations, a science experiment, small group activity. Support with dismissal as instructed in an assigned area. Observe confidentiality of student-related issues.
