Cafeteria/Lunch Monitor Cumberland School Department - 4.1 Cumberland, RI Job Details Part-time 7 hours ago Qualifications Student supervision Confidential information handling Student behavior monitoring Full Job Description The duties for Cafeteria/Lunch Monitor include, but are not limited to, the following: 1. Ensuring the safety of all students who enter the cafeteria2. Revising safety protocol and Procedures with our school nurse3. Keeping the cafeteria orderly and systematic at all times4. Provide the students with positive feedback and instructions5. Model proper procedures and expectations for students6. Keep lunches running on time 7. Use positive language when asking students to modify behaviors8. Maintain a high level of expectations in the cafeteria9. Clearly post rules and expectations10. Communicate clearly and efficiently when speaking to large group11. Be considerate, consistent, and definitive with language while administering instructions.12. Become familiar with all emergency procedures and be able to carry them out in the event of an emergency (evacuation, lockdown, fire drills, etc)13. Willingness to have Professional Development in PBIS Model14. Work closely with the cafeteria staff to ensure safety of students with food allergies and maintain the cafeteria clean and running efficiently. 15. Answer phones during the secretary's lunch16. Perform office and clerical responsibilities as determined by the Principal or other office personnel 17. Minor filing and record keeping
Requirements:
1. Experience with large groups and students preferred2. Strong communication skills3. Effective organizer4. Strong management skills with large groups of children5. Confident and proactive in approaching cafeteria monitoring6. Problem solver7. Be able to handle discipline issues in a proactive manner without constant referrals to the office8. Be able to maintain confidentiality as required by law.
