Job Description

SUMMARY:
To lead activities and assist in the supervision of K3-K5 students from 2:30 - 5:30 pm. Student employees hired for this position may be eligible for the Federal Work Study program. You must fill out a Federal Work Study application to see if you qualify. •Bob Jones University students only•
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervises children in grades K3-K5 in a loosely-structured play environment after school Leads the children in activities, deals with small discipline issues, plays with the children, and ensures their safety at all times Answers the walkie-talkies and maintains accurate tracking sheets for the children Reports to the Late Stay Supervisor Maintains consistent discipline with the children Maintains a safe, clean, and appealing play environment Times available: 2:30pm -5:30pm
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Must be 18 years of age or older Must be enrolled as a student at Bob Jones University Successfully complete SLED and FBI background checks Complete a physical exam including a TB test (K3 and K4 staff only) Capable of maintaining a positive attitude and caring concern towards children, coworkers, parents, and supervisor Observant, active, and able to use sound judgment and initiative Ability to work independently and with coworkers Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices for young children Ability to provide guidance to young children Ability to move quickly when needed Ability to (occasionally) lift children, equipment, and supplies; lift up to 50 lbs.; push/pull up to 40 lbs. Ability to hear and see at a distance
JOB SKILLS EXPERIENCE PREFERRED
Experience in working with children, in a church, daycare, school, or camp environment preferred
Certificates and Licenses:
DSS Certification (K3 and K4 staff) Blood-Borne Pathogens Training 15 clock hours of training annually pertaining to Growth and Development, Curriculum, and Health and Safety First Aid/CPR Training good, but not required Equal Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
